The Impact Hub Network is a global network of
co-working spaces and incubators for social entrepreneurs and innovators,
with 110 locations in 67 cities. Since 2012, it has generated
over 55,000 jobs and founded more than 15,000
companies. This thesis presents a project for an Impact
Hub in Venice, in the Dorsoduro gasometer area,
formerly Italgas, divided into two parts: "Compass Learning
Cities" and "Venice Impact Hub." The first part explores
UNESCO's Learning Cities Network and the New European
Bauhaus (NEB), which promotes design, sustainability
and innovation. The second part details the
Impact Hub project in Venice, aimed at regenerating
the gasometer area, attracting global talent, and revitalizing
community life. The project integrates sustainable
solutions and involves the regeneration of existing buildings
and the construction of a new pavilion, with spaces for
co-working, cultural events, and recreational activities. This
approach aims to reverse the trend of depopulation
and strengthen Venice's residential character.
