Renovation of a country cottage in Parma

The project involves the restoration of a typical country house on the outskirts of Parma, protected under the Municipal Urban Development Plan and characterised by a residential block flanked by the original agricultural outbuildings, such as a cowshed, a barn and storage sheds.
The project involved the refurbishment of the existing dwelling through a new layout of the interior spaces and the conversion of the former agricultural wing into an accommodation facility with guest rooms.
Particular attention was paid to the design of the façades, with the aim of preserving their traditional features whilst reconciling them with the functional requirements of the new spaces, striking a balance between conservation and contemporary design.
